Saniya Pearson

Saniya Pearson (Poetry S.A.P.) is an International Baccalaureate senior at Central High School in Capitol Heights, MD. She earned the title of 2024 Youth Poet Laureate of PG County, sharing her poetry across various platforms. In 2024, she was honored at the General Maryland Assembly, receiving a Senate Resolution commemorating her term as Youth Poet Laureate of the county. Prince George’s County Board of Education also has presented her with the Unsung Hero Award, and she was awarded the Achievement Award from the Prince George’s County English Department.

Saniya is looking forward to continuing her passion for performing socially conscious and uplifting pieces as well as becoming a civil rights attorney. She strives to use her words to empower, connect, and invoke a call to action. In September 2025, she published her first poetry compilation, "I Am Not Your Literature."
