Saniya Pearson (Poetry S.A.P.) is a Harvard-bound freshman, International Baccalaureate scholar, and 2026 Valedictorian of Central High School in Capitol Heights, MD. She earned the title of 2024 Youth Poet Laureate of PG County, sharing her poetry across various platforms. In 2024, she was honored at the General Maryland Assembly, receiving a Senate Resolution commemorating her term as Youth Poet Laureate of the county. Prince George’s County Board of Education has presented her with the Unsung Hero Award, and she was awarded the Achievement Award from the Prince George’s County English Department.

Saniya is looking forward to continuing her passion for performing socially conscious and uplifting pieces as well as becoming a civil rights attorney. She strives to use her words to empower, connect, and invoke a call to action. In September 2025, she published her first poetry compilation, "I Am Not Your Literature."

This book was recognized, receiving an award for its activism from the Prince George’s County Board of Education and by the Tri-County MD Alumnae Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 2026, she was officially lauded by the Prince George's County Council with a proclamation during National Poetry Month.
